IBEC features several tools and resources. Its context-based, outcome evaluation toolkit was developed as part of its IMLS-funded “How Libraries and Librarians Help” study series. This four-step toolkit provides guidelines and sample instruments for evaluating the broad impacts of community programming. 

Under “Links” we highlight our favorite external resources, including associations, conference series, and research institutes, that promote the study of information and everyday life.

IBEC Concepts features two frameworks that arose from our recent work: information grounds, and information communities. We believe that identification of such locales can lead to improvements in information flow, which can greatly benefit different constituents.

Intended as a field researcher’s resource, the IBEC database will be released soon — it contains citations to works across many different fields that relate to information behavior in everyday life. The database also contains contact information, specializations and links to researchers who work in the area.
